Bersih tempatnya?
Kami akan ke Bandung 23hb bulan ni. Harap dpt lebih informasi.
Hello Sue,
Thanks For visiting my web, well, i think you are a singaporean or a malaysian, aren’t you ? i’ll reply you in english, i hope i give you some information.
either from de tropis or rumah tawa taman cibunut, it’s far enough if you walk down the street…you will be tired, trust me
here it is, route from jalan windu to jalan riau, from google map :
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Jalan+Riau,+Bandung,+Indonesia&daddr=Jalan+Windu&hl=en&geocode=Fbaflv8d0CpqBikdHZmvSuZoLjGUQo9ZgKOYWA%3BFVxTlv8dCjxqBg&mra=mift&mrsp=1&sz=15&sll=-6.919568,107.628593&sspn=0.020279,0.038581&ie=UTF8&ll=-6.923317,107.628744&spn=0.010139,0.01929&z=16

from taman cibunut to jalan riau :

well, de tropis and rumah tawa taman cibunut, i prefer taman cibunut, it is closer to jalan riau than from de tropis, then i like its modern minimalist style…and of course like you said, cheaper price…
do i answer your question ? feel free if you want to ask me another question….
Hi Tobz,
yeah I’m from Malaysia =) It warms my heart to receive your notification email and reply. I did a lot of research but their information is very limited. Not many comment about Rumah Tawa, though I noticed someone said that Taman Cibunut’s branch is newly open. I guess not more than 2 years, maybe? And finally I reached your blog. I didn’t expect you to reply (or reply this soon). And you surprised me that it can make a ROUTE in Google Map (I didn’t know how to, so I dragged/zoom in/zoom out the map here and there, to find where is Jln Riau and Jln Wundu and Jalan Cibunut) How i wish I could express my gratitude to you!!
Actually I heard that it’s impossible (or tiring) to walk from de’ tropis to these FOs. While Rumah Tawa informed me that it’s about 1 mile its place from FOs.
I guess I need to use angkut to the FOs no matter which guest house I’m staying. Do you know how much the cost it could be?
Rumah Tawa give me better offer, but the air port pick up is rather expensive. Do you know from the airport to Rumah Tawa, how much it could charge if i take blue bird taxi? Does bluebird available at 7pm?
Besides, I read from its website, it only accept legal (married?) spouse. Well, does it apply to foreigner?
Do I have to bring the marriage cert? (Well, a new rules Ito me)
Appreciate in advance again!
hehe, it’s an honor for me to answer your question, Sue…you are the first foreigner who asked me something, since i running this web, 2 months ago.
yeah, you’re right, Taman Cibunut is mostly new…i really like the floor..they use bowling floor !!
about google map, to make a route, you must find first the street, after google map give a mark,( usually with alphabet like “A” or “B”), right click and choose direction from here…then, find your destination, and right click again, direction to here…voila, they make a route for you..
well, angkot ( angkutan kota –> city transportation ) is very cheap, no more than around IDR 4000/person/route, but, usually the driver can’t speak english, and if he is naughty, he bring you around the city and he said that the fee is more expensive than 4000…and he will angry if you dont pay as much as he want.just be carefull. taxi is more expensive, but safe.
airport pickup, i have no experience from husein sastranegara airport to cibunut..but for sure, bluebird is ready/available..you can take a taxi in the airport, ask the airport officer, where is “konter taxi resmi bandara” –> official airport taxi counter…make sure it use the argometer, do not bargain..legal taxi uses argometer.
if you need blue bird, here it is the phone number : +62 22 7561234 and +62 22 7561222, but usually you cannot make a phone call, and ask the driver to pick you up in airport, you should use the official airport taxi.
i have suggestion, why dont you rent a car for 12 hours or 15 hours…the last time i went to bandung, i rent a car, Suzuki APV, with AC, ( a car for around 6-7 people ),include the driver…its around 300.000 – 350.000 IDR…and for the gasoline maybe around 80.000 IDR, and for the driver tips, lunch and dinner around 50.000 IDR. the driver can pick you up at the airport and drive the car wherever you want to go..just bargaining about the price and how many hours do you want to rent…here is the number.. +628562242362 – Mr Hadi, or +6281320333210 – Karya Utama car rental. just call and ask, and bargain..
legal spouse, usually it’s just a regulation, but they rarely ask it..the main point is, they want their guest house is “Clean”, no prostitution there…we indonesian, usually just show our ID card, and if we have married, we have the same address in ID Card, right..i dont know about your ID Card, but if you still doubt it, just bring your marriage cert…just be carefull of it…
waw….a long story that i write…haha…hope you are understand my bad english and get the point
feel free if you want to ask again..
Hi Tobz,
Thanks again for your reply and all what you taught about the google map!
My honour to be ur first foreigner visitor to your blog (lucky enough to get so much info)
I’m interested in angkut coz I never tried it before :p
Just wanna have a new experience. But most of the time I will opt for taxi, well, for own safety. When you can’t communicate within each other, you’ll feel unsafe. Having bad experience here (burglary into my house by Indonesian), I’m afraid of them. Regardless the nation, some people might be nice, but as you know, when you can’t communicate well, it always lead to misunderstanding, even a fight.
Just got info from Tawa website, taxi charge us about 30k-40k from airport to Taman Cibunut (hurray!)
Yes I’ve booked a tour guide with Avanza. He charges me at 450k per day. Got his info from a Malaysian website whose name Azlan. And i smsed this tour guide, he offered to reduce 50k when I told him Azland name XD (normal price 500k). I think it should have included the gasoline (here we name it “petrol”)Hmm…Do you think the price already include driver meal? (sounds a stupid question hhahhaa)
I think i know the purpose of the “regulation”. Accrding to Tawa’s reply, we do not to show marriage cert, but just need to show the passport.
Gosh our passport doesn’t show about our marital status….I really wonder.
Oh…so you share the same address after getting married. I don’t know about ourselves (Please forgive me). My elder brother married to a Singaporean (originally, from China) girl, staying at SG. My younger sister married to a China man, staying at Malaysia. I don’t see them sharing same address (XD) probably they use different identity card or no such law in these 2 countries.
Anyway, I’ve decided to stay at de’ tropis and go to Tawa then. Both of them require deposit. Unfortunately it’s troublesome to pay deposit from here and it charges slightly higher. Since de’ tropis provides free airport pick up, would be glad if can see someone holding a paper with my name written on it once i arrive in Bandung. (and it means they reserve the room for me)
In the condition I can’t pay the deposit, I’m afraid Tawa won’t hold any room for me as I arrive late in Bandung, and maybe there’s no more room =(
(Thought Tawa interior is really attractive)
Planning to stay 2 days at Bandung and 2 days at Jakarta, but heard Indonesia is protesting Malaysia recently. Is the situation at Jakarta that bad?
Don’t worry, you write good English. We must have self confident ok? ^_*
Thanks for all your info and being helpful Tobz.
If any of my friends want to travel to Bandung, I’ll ask them to visit your blog and throw you with tons of questions (hahaha!!)
Hehehe,it always nice, get some info about others country culture
thanks for sharing it to me,Sue..
, i’m living at Surabaya, but it is ok for me to answer question about bandung, i went there 2 months ago, so i still remember. it will be great if your next trip is going to Surabaya
oh ya, can i ask you a question, Sue ? Where did you find my blog ? Googling ?? thanks before
..
“Regardless the nation, some people might be nice, but as you know, when you can’t communicate well, it always lead to misunderstanding, even a fight” –> right…i remember when i was in Singapore, i have already pay for my food, and the seller forget it, then she asked me the money again, unfortunately i can not speak chinese, and she only speaks chinese, wew…fortunately for me, a young girl came and ask me what was the problem and she told it to the food seller
…
Since Indonesian people are tricky (haha…), ASK FIRST the driver, it is include the gasoline or not. i’m afraid you are foreigner, and they “hit” you with the expensive rate, without gasoline..usually, the rate is always exclude the driver meals and tips.
…
about the marital status, don’t be shy to ask again to rumah tawa officer about your pasport, i know for sure, they will answer your question. In Indonesia, after we get married, we make a family card which contains of our new family data ( address, birth date, education, religion, etc ), if we have a child, we renewed the family card again. and when you make an ID Card, the family card is one of the requirement, so that’s why after married, we have same address in id card.
…
about rumah tawa problem, just re-confirmed your arrival, maybe 2 or 1 day before your departure. remind them that you will come and stay there. after you arrive at de tropis and a tour guide pick you up, go first to rumah tawa and pay the deposit. so the next day, it must be a room for you.
…
Yeah, Indonesia is recently protest Malaysia for your marine police attitude, but the situation and condition is much better than many weeks ago, everything is ok and cooling down…my tips for you, don’t wear anything that showed you as a malaysian..for example tshirt or anything else..you will be safe.
…
have a great trip, Sue…
And FYI, i am not living at Bandung
Am a bit shy to ask my bandung tour guide hahaha.
I’m afraid he is still in Raya mood. I was just making a wild guess coz according to the Malaysian blogger, they pay 500k to this driver and he just bring them around Bandung. So i guess it’s included petrol. Maybe they tip him but just didn’t mention it.
Anyway, will ask. Might die of starving if I don’t bring enough money (cry!!)
It sounds troublesome to me (to keep renewing the family card) (If it’s a big family, Can’t imagine how thick or how long the card is! Woof!), but i guess it’s a good way to avoid bigamy.
Hahaha!! Talk about T-shirt. I saw a t-shirt with the word ‘I love Malaysia’ selling at some shops. I pointed at the t-shirt and tell my friend, “Let’s wear this and go to Jakarta. Just die there, let them regret for being childish and berbaik semula.”
(What the hell when crimes are all around, yet they have time to argue over this issue?)
Hmm…I didn’t think that you stay at Bandung Tobz. I knew you stay somewhere else coz u said “I visited Bandung last time”. Just trying to get as much info as I can since you’re Indonesian. I hope you don’t mind for those funny/stupid questions XD
I was linked to your blog by googling “rumah tawa cibunut”. When googling Rumah Tawa, most of the reviews are about Taman Siswa, not much about taman Cibunut. So i was just trying my luck to find info for Tmn Cibunut. It’s at page 9. You may want to try it out. ^^
Again, thanks Tobz. Will visit to Surabaya one day. I need to do reserach first, and will come to disturb you again
Will be leaving another 4 days. I’m so excited!!
Good night Tobz.
Yeah, i hope you are all safe in Indonesia and go back to Malaysia still in your 100% condition
haha…
…
it’s no problem at all for me, ask questions as much as you can and i will answer them as much as i can…well, i’m happy if a lot of foreigner come to Indonesia…they give us a lot of devisen and it’s good for my country..
…
Yeah, next time you must go to surabaya, there is many AirAsia flight, so it must be cheap for you…then ask me again and i will help you for sure
…
Well, page 9 ?? wow, i must do something, to make my blog appear in front…maybe page 2-3….thanks..
…
Have a nice trip Sue, and tell me your experience there…
Dago No.37, Gampoeng Aceh. kira kira ke dago guest housenya naik angkot apa yah..
thanks before..
Halo Neeya, thanks for visiting yaah….
.
.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Jalan+Dago,+Bandung,+Indonesia&daddr=Jalan+Bukit+Dago+Selatan,+Bandung,+Indonesia+(Dago+Guest+House+Bandung)&hl=en&geocode=Fenplv8dvQ1qBikz047_VeZoLjFhNf2JY0zB_g%3BFespl_8dgyFqBiHRpJoS_7956g&mra=pd&mrcr=0&sll=-6.902849,107.680888&sspn=0.152012,0.308647&ie=UTF8&ll=-6.88704,107.617586&spn=0.009501,0.01929&t=h&z=16
.
Ntar tinggal jalan menyusuri samping jayakarta..
Makasih udah jelasin
next time mampir2 lagi ya brad…
Thanks bro..Nice info…I like this post very much!
dont forget to visit my page
thanks for visiting
Halo Manja, thanks for visiting my blog
.
Well…kalau anda sukanya nuansa rumah kuno, silahkan ke rumah ebo, kalau suka model minimalis modern, silahkan ke rumah tawa..saya prefer rumahtawa sih..tapi semua ada plus minusnya yah..
.
.
Wisata Mall -> Seperti Bandung SuperMall, Paris Van Java, lalu Ciwalk…
.
.
WIsata kuliner –> banyak kafe atau resto yang enak, juga tempatnya bagus..seperti the valley, kampung daun, rumah risol, the peak, dll…daerah dago pakar, dago atas ini banyak..juga ada di paskal hypersquare…
.
Wisata Alam –> ada Kawah putih, ada lembang, teropong boscha, lalu ada kebun strawberry, tempat susu sapi, etc…
.
.
Semoga membantu yaa
Saya hampir menyelesaikan family guest house di Cipaku Indah II no 1 . Kira2 bulan depan baru siap operationalnya.
